Enrichment
At Cordwalles Junior School, we are committed to providing enrichment opportunities that expand children’s knowledge and understanding of the world, while also encouraging them to discover and develop new talents, interests, and skills that they can carry forward into their lives.
How Do We Achieve This?
- Collaboration with the GLF Foundation: We actively work with the GLF Foundation to secure grant funding, which allows us to offer a wide range of enrichment activities.
- Building Community Links: By fostering strong relationships with local organisations and charities, we bring unique opportunities directly to our students.
- Fundraising Events: Through engaging fundraising initiatives, we generate additional resources to enhance our enrichment programs.
Our Enrichment Opportunities
We offer a diverse range of activities that cater to all interests, including sports, performing arts, and cultural experiences. Some highlights include:
- Sports: Tennis lessons provided by the prestigious Tim Henman Foundation.
- Performing Arts: A robust performing arts program featuring:
- Annual events such as a Christmas Concert, curriculum assemblies, class assemblies, and a large-scale summer production.
- Opportunities to perform at iconic venues like The Royal Albert Hall (Music for Youth Proms) and the O2 Arena (Young Voices).
- Partnership with Delight Charity:
- Delight in Shakespeare: Year 5 students participate in workshops led by the Guildford Shakespeare Company, culminating in their own performance.
- Delight in Stories: Year 3 students explore storytelling through performance.
